Hulk has arrived

I arrived into this strange new world on the 9th December at 14:56 at Christiaan Barnard Hospital. To welcome me into the world was my mom, my dad, Davin (my doctor) and 2 helpful nurses. I started trying to come out at 7:20 so mom was in labour (with lots of drugs!!!) for just over 7 hours.

My first Christmas

All my aunties, uncles, grannies, grandpas and cousins are altogether for Christmas - because of me! Mom dressed me in a funny hat and shirt. Everyone cooked so much food, had lots to drink and I did not want to miss the party. On Christmas day I enjoyed all the singing at church and then spent the day chilling in Clifton - my ideal spot!

Arrival Date

We are so excited that we are going to meet you on the 9th December.
Mom and dad are feeling a little anxious but very excited.

Your room

Mom and dad have been so busy getting your room ready. It is nearly there.

Dad has been trying out his handyman skills and mom has been busy sewing.

Baby Shower

On Saturday 30th October at 3:00 we celebrated the arrival of Hulk. Set amongst the roses of Wembley House, aunty Ali and her team organised champagne and cake. They did not miss a detail from the nappy cake, to the flag and baby grows, to the personalised badges.

Hulk got spoilt from all his family and friends. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives.

Today is dads birthday and you are now 32 weeks!

The Hospital

On Monday, dad and mom went to have a tour of the hospital where you will be coming into the world - Christiaan Barnard. We were lucky enough to have a peep at you although you didn't want us to see your face. I think you want to be a suprise!!!

Today your room is beginning to look like a boys room. The cot is up, compactum ready now we just waiting for you!!!

Babymoon - 11/09/2010

Mom and Dad went on a lovely babymoon for the night to Bushmanskloof. It was as close to the bush as we can get with you in moms tummy! It was lovely to relax and talk about you all weekend!

22 week scan

Mom and dad were blown away by our whole experience on the 12 August at the Foetal Assessment Centre. We were lucky enough to spend an hour with the fabulous Dr Morris looking at our Hulk! We watched his heart beat, checked all his organs, watched him suck his toes, drink, yawn and play around my belly!

We cant wait to meet him!

Today we went to see our little Hulk. He is definatley a boy (our scan proves it!) and he is very healthy. His belly is full and his heart is 154 beats! We were so excited to see him again and can't wait to meet him!

A better mom!

I am 20 weeks and past the half way mark! Only 20 more weeks until we meet our new addition to the family. Mom is back.... no more nausea and feeling so good. We are going to check up on Hulk on Monday so I will keep you posted.

Its a boy!

Today we went to the Foetal assessment centre. Not sure what to expect we were greeted by a very to the point lady. Fact fact fact..... She explained to us what she will be looking for. Luke was very relieved that it was an external scan. We were both speechless watching our little Hulk. Rubbing his eyes, kicking his legs! He is so far perfect and all his measurements good. What a lovely feeling to know this little person inside you is doing ok. Lastly she gave us a 90% accuracey that it is a boy! It was was we thought.

We are so excited and dad bought Hulk his first blue outfit!!!

APRIL

The Positive Line

Monday 12th April
Waking up very early to do a test - I waited only to see a very faint second line. Not quite sure what to believe we decided to do another 2 different brands the next morning!
Tuesday 13th April
2 different brands and both of us waiting patiently it confirmed we were to be mom and dad!
Wednesday 14th April
Dr Kaplans rooms and it is all real - we're having a baby!! I'm 5 and a half weeks pregnant!
The family are all over the moon!
